About the Comic
S'up, Dudes?
As anyone who's watched Animal Planet
(while drunk) can tell you, ducks and
weasels are nature's peanut butter and
jelly. They complement each-other
perfectly, and tend to get into a heaping
helping of sticky situations. Would-be
screenwriter Quacker Duk, and his partner
in crime Bowen, share an apartment with
their friend Opal, as they learn to live, love
and find work in the City of Angels.
Quacker Duk and his buddy "Smoke'n" Bowen first appeared in 1998 as part of
"Concord Animals" in The Concord Academy newspaper, "The Centipede," where they
acted as High School con-artists. In 2001, however, their continuity was rebooted when
"Quacker and Bowen" began it's weekly run in the Emerson College "Berkley Beacon."
There, Quacker and Bowen attended film school in Boston. Around 2003,
quackerandbowen.com came online, allowing students to go beyond the comics and
savor the further savor the duo's adventures through their "digital dorm."
Today, "Quacker and Bowen" is found on the Emerson Mafia Portal and in the Woods
Monthly Newsletter. They may be out of school, but they will never truly grow up.
